I was born in Puebla, Mexico.  I came to the U.S. at the age of 12 and started 6th grade in Houston,TX.  Eventually, my family and I relocated to Hurst, TX., where I continued my education and graduated from L.D. Bell High School.  I attended TCC where I received my associates.  Afterwards, I transferred to Texas Wesleyan University and graduated with my Bachelor's of Science in Paralegal Studies and minor in Business Administration.   

I started working for FWISD as a compliance teacher assistant, substitute teacher then moved on to become a special education teacher assistant and eventually found my calling and became a teacher.  I look forward each school year to building a classroom community where all my students become like a family.  This school year is different, but my goal for your children remains the same: to learn in a safe and caring environment so that the students become successful learners.

I have been teaching for 22 wonderful years! I was born and raised in Fort Worth and graduated from Paschal High School. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Studies from Texas Wesleyan University. There are so many things I love about teaching! First are the students of course! My passion is reading and when I see students reading independently deeply engaged in thought, it truly warms my heart! In the classroom I live for those “ah moments” that students have. I love shopping, cooking and most of all being a mommy to my two daughters.

¡He estado enseñando durante 22 años maravillosos! Nací y crecí en Fort Worth y me gradué de la Preparatoria Paschal. Recibí mi licenciatura en Estudios Legales de la Texas Wesleyan University. ¡Hay tantas cosas que amo de enseñar! Primero están los estudiantes por supuesto! Mi pasión es leer y cuando veo que los estudiantes leen de forma independiente y profundamente comprometidos con el pensamiento, ¡realmente calienta mi corazón! En el aula vivo por esos "ah momentos" que tienen los alumnos. Me encanta ir de compras, cocinar y sobre todo ser una mamá para mis dos hijas.

My teaching experience began more than 15 years ago. I knew I wanted to go into teaching after I worked with children in the daycare setting. After I received my college degree from UTA I dedicated my time to the FWISD where I am driven to help students overcome their barriers that impact their learning. Every year is a different experience and I have enjoyed all of them.

Mi experiencia comenzó hace más de 15 años. Sabía que quería ser maestra después de haber trabajado con niños en la guardería. Después que obtuve mi título universitario de UTA, dediqué mi tiempo a FWISD, donde me guían para ayudar a los estudiantes a superar sus barreras que afectan su aprendizaje. Cada año es una experiencia diferente y los ha disfrutado a todos.
