Mr. Javier Aguilera
Greetings,
My name is Javier Aguilera and I am proud to have been granted the opportunity to serve the Richard J Wilson community.
My education includes a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Film from the College of Santa Fe. I have served as an educator since 2010 as a Middle School Technology/Video Technology Teacher and Campus Technologist.
I then took on a position as a High School Instructional Coach/Small Learning Communities Coordinator, where I worked with all EOC tested subject teachers, supervised a team of 14 tutors, and oversaw the freshmen class to prepare them for high school expectations. During this time, I earned my Masters in Instructional Leadership from Howard Payne University, leading to my first elementary role as an Assistant Principal. I later took on the charge of a High School Assistant Principal. Finally, I was given my first principalship, where I served for 2 years.
During my time in education leadership, I have worked to refine systems to increase test scores and to improve teacher/student conditions, which improves student learning! I’ve also made connections with the community around me to bring new innovation and support for all of the campuses I’ve supported.
I am excited about using my experience with Pre-K through 12th grade students to make a difference. When asked about why I am committed to education, I always think about the students' lives I have affected over the years. My personal mission is to positively influence the lives of the staff, students, and community members I serve.
During my free time I enjoy watching movies, supporting small businesses, and anything Star Wars!
I’m very excited for the BEST YEAR EVER!
